Wan.ga: meat and the meaning of it to the Paakantyi People

Andrew wants to find out what ‘meat’ means to the Paakantyi people of western New South Wales. He asks Kayleen and his cousin Golly. The answer is surprising.

Aboriginal people are warned that this video contains the voice of someone who has died. Kayleen has given her full permission to use material from her auntie, the late Mrs Elsie Jones, whose effort in recording the Paakantyi language over many years has been the inspiration for the Paakantyi language course that is taught in schools today.
